Dear peacemaker,

➡This newsletter is a great resource and springboard - for your life as a voter, your work as a (civic) educator, and your mission as a cause-driven leader.

For most of the year, I publish Peaceful Leader about 5 times a month - 4 weekly editions + 1 bonus edition.

If you’re on my free signup list (i.e. a non-paying subscriber), you’ll have access to one weekly edition each month.

And when I take some down time in the summer and winter, I’ll release a month-end roundup edition to all subscribers in January or February, and in July and August.

Paying subscribers get one bonus edition each month, where I take a deeper dive into an important story/issue of our time.

Paid subscriptions are $100 a year, or $10 month-to-month.

Thanks for supporting this work. 🙏 May the peaceful force be with you. ✨

Why subscribe?

🆓Each weekly edition of Peaceful Leader covers one or more of the following:

  • Institutions Are Us – Curated stories, or firsthand accounts, of building or reshaping institutions, societies and worlds

  • BeCause We Can – Peaceful causes that are making the news, and/or profiles of those who work to champion them - some famous (and young), others working quietly and powerfully behind the scenes

  • Thoughts and Voices – Highlights from my Lead for the World Magazine and Executive Book Club podcast, including song clips about attaining world/inner peace.

Each edition is more than just a random collation of articles from the week in news. I craft the stories through having lived and worked on 3 continents (Asia, Europe, North America), and from having studied, and volunteered or worked in, the areas of:

  • marketing, advertising and public relations

  • business strategy and management

  • technology and user experience design

  • biology and environmentalism

  • culture and the performing arts

  • personal development, spirituality and the healing arts

  • civic affairs and global citizenship

💲Paying subscribers get one bonus edition each month with:

A deeper dive into a story related to the *United Nation’s #GlobalGoals.

I’ll explore the story through

  • documentaries 🎬

  • books 📚

  • global events 🌍

  • subscriber-only discussion threads 🗣

  • interviews 🎙

  • musical performances 🎶, or

  • seminal articles 📜

My intention?

  • To help us all learn more about what it takes to achieve the #GlobalGoals in practice - across governments, the business sector, civil society, and as everyday citizens

  • To gather our collective hearts and minds around these shared global problems

  • To paint new possibilities, and to inspire all who are devoted to serving humanity and saving the planet

*Here’s more about the #GlobalGoals, from the UN Sustainable Development Goals website:

On 1 January 2016, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development — adopted by world leaders in September 2015 at an historic UN Summit — officially came into force. Over the next fifteen years, with these new Goals that universally apply to all, countries will mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change, while ensuring that no one is left behind.

The SDGs build on the success of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and aim to go further to end all forms of poverty. The new Goals are unique in that they call for action by all countries, poor, rich and middle-income to promote prosperity while protecting the planet. They recognize that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and addresses a range of social needs including education, health, social protection, and job opportunities, while tackling climate change and environmental protection.
